The Ministry of National Defense issued press release to explain that PRC ships implemented long-range navigation mission, and the national army assigned aircrafts and ships to monitor and carry out necessary handling (June 22nd, 2018)
The Ministry of National Defense stated today (22nd) that 2 PRC warships (destroyer DDG-152 and corvette FFG-577) sailed from north to south across the eastern open sea area of ROC (the open sea outside the adjacent area of ROC), sail through the Bashi Channel and continue to sail to the South China Sea, and it is inferred that they were performing long-range navigation training.
The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the national army assigned ships and aircrafts to carry out full-time surveillance and investigations and necessary handling according to “Emergency Handle Rule during Regular War Preparation Period of the National Army” to ensure national security, and ROC people should feel at ease.
